Minko is a small, boutique, family owned vineyard producing premium cool climate wines. Minko Vineyards are part of the Southern Fleurieu Region and are committed to sustainable eco-agriculture.

The Winemaking...

Since 2003 our red wines have been made at Hawkers Gate in McLaren Vale, a boutique winery owned by James Hastwell. Hawkers’s Gate specializes in meticulous handling of small parcels of fruit. James Hastwell’s scientific approach to wine making ensures that the fruit reaches its full potential.
Connect to Hawkers Gate for more about James’s Winemaking techniques.

Our white wines have been made by Simon Parker and Adrian Kenny; and our sparklings are made at Patrittis.

Stelvin Closures...

As we wish our customers to enjoy our handcrafted wines without cork taint, we use stelvin closures for all our table wines including reds. We recommend the publication, “Screwed for Good; the case for screw caps on red wines” by Tyson Stelzer, published by Wine Press, for further reading about why we believe this is a good decision.

 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon RESERVE

The fruit for this Cabernet was estate grown on glacial sands over ironstone and was of outstanding quality.  2 years in French and American oak has produced a wine with a generous, mouth feel, rich dark berry and a touch of savoury olive flavours with aromas of  blackcurrant, tobacco and earth. Good length and persistence of flavour and silky tannins.

Serve with your favourite meat dishes.
