Minko is a 160 hectare property on Woodcone Road, Mt. Compass which is in the Southern Fleurieu Wine Geographical Index. Situated 250-300 metres above sea level, Minko receives similar daylight hours to the Adelaide Hills ideal for growing cool climate varieties. 10 hectares of vines were planted in 1997 using the “smart dyson” trellising for the merlot and Vertical Shoot Positioning (V.S.P) for the rest. Vintage is usually from the end of March to early May. Olive trees and natives line the vineyards for wind protection.

The glacial sands over ironstone and the cool maritime climate both contribute to the flavour of our wine.

Minko practices sustainable eco- agriculture including pest monitoring and minimal sprays. The Nangkita and Tookayerta Creeks flow through Minko; their wetlands and associated native vegetation are valued features of the property along with 66 hectares of heritage listed scrub.
